YouWontDoIt.com takes your privacy seriously. Like, more seriously than a 90s kid took their Tamagotchi. Here's what we do (and don't do) with your information.
Email Address (Required): You provide your email when you participate. We use it so you can access your cards and deck. Your email is not shared, sold, or solicited. It exists solely for verification and so you can come back and view your collection.
Payment Information: We use Stripe to process payments. We never see, store, touch, or even glance at your credit card number. Stripe handles all of that. They're very good at it. Much better than we would be. Your payment data goes directly to Stripe's secure servers and never passes through ours.
Transaction Records: We keep a record that you participated, your assigned card number, its tier, and ownership history. This is necessary to run the experiment, facilitate trades, and so you can view your collection.
We use your information to:
• Assign you a card (the whole point)
• Let you view your collection and deck
• Facilitate trades and transfers between users
• Track card ownership (who currently holds each card)
• Keep track of how many people have participated
• Display aggregate statistics on the site (like total cards claimed)
That's it. That's the list. There is no secret second list.
Let us be crystal clear: We do not sell, rent, lease, lend, barter, trade, or exchange your personal information with anyone. Not with advertisers. Not with data brokers. Not with that guy who keeps emailing us about "synergy opportunities." Nobody. Your email is safe here. Safer than it is in your own inbox, honestly.
Yes, we use cookies. Not the delicious kind (unfortunately). The digital kind. Our cookies are used for basic site functionality like remembering your session. We don't use tracking cookies to follow you around the internet. We have better things to do. Like running a social experiment about numbers.
Stripe may also set cookies as part of their payment processing. That's between you and Stripe. We recommend reading their privacy policy too if you're in a privacy-policy-reading mood today (and clearly you are).
Stripe: We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe has its own privacy policy, which is significantly longer and more serious than this one. You can read it at stripe.com/privacy.
We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or any other tracking tools that follow you around the internet like a lost puppy. Your visit here is between you and us.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Our database is secured, our connections are encrypted, and we don't write passwords on sticky notes. (We've seen people do that. Please don't do that.) While no system is 100% secure (this is the internet, after all), we do our best to keep your data safe.
We keep your participation records for as long as the experiment exists. If you want your email removed from our records, email us at admin@youwontdoit.com and we'll take care of it.
Here's what happens when you request removal:
• Your email address is permanently deleted from our database.
• Your card number(s) will not go back into circulation. They remain claimed forever.
• However, those cards will no longer be accessible by you or anyone else.
• This action is irreversible. Once your email is removed, there is no way to recover access to your cards.
Think of it like throwing away a trading card. The card still existed. It's just gone now. The number is retired. A monument to what was.
YouWontDoIt.com is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, please go do your homework. Or play outside. Or do whatever kids do these days. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we discover we have, we will delete it faster than you can say "GeoCities."
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top. We recommend checking back occasionally, but let's be honest: you probably won't. And that's okay. The spirit of the policy will remain the same: we respect your privacy and we don't do shady things with your data.
If you have questions about this privacy policy, or if you just want to say hi, you can reach us at admin@youwontdoit.com. We read every email. Eventually.
Your privacy is safe. Your dollar? That's up to you.
